This educational series was made possible through a collaboration with our community partners...
America was already facing a tragic overdose crisis fueled by opioids before the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020
But when COVID-19 enveloped our community and our nation in March of 2020, things changed exponentially for the worse. For those who were already struggling with substances, the pandemic significantly accelerated their drug use and for many with fatal consequences. Now that we have reached 2021, as the profound pandemic disruption begins to subside, a frightening picture of the death toll is starting to emerge in our community and around America.
At a time when community collaboration is more important than ever, we have partnered with community health organizations from around the Sunshine State, Central Florida Cares, Southeast Florida Behavioral Health, and LSF Health Systems Florida to bring our communities education and resources to take action and save lives!
